CHRIS BAu
Henry Lodovico, known by his stage name H.E Chris Bau De DanceLord SSD, is a dynamic and passionate South Sudanese dancer and choreographer. His stage name reflects his identity: the "H.E" stands for Henry, his Christian name, and Ecomos, the name of his village. Proudly rooted in his heritage, Henry hails from the Lotuko (Otuho) tribe in Eastern Equatoria State.
Henry began his dance journey in 2015 as a street dancer, and his talent quickly stood out. By 2017, he and his peers formed a group called Jubek Dancers at their school. Under the guidance of an established South Sudanese dancer, Henry and his team grew into one of the nation’s recognized dance groups by 2018.
For Henry, dance is more than just movement—it’s his passion, talent, and divine gift. He dances to share his abilities with the world, inspiring others and showcasing the transformative power of dance. As a choreographer and performer, Henry specializes in Afro dance, Afro Lingala, Amapiano, Dancehall, and Historical dance. Each style reflects his versatility and deep connection to rhythm and storytelling.
One of Henry’s greatest sources of pride is his Lotuko culture, particularly the traditional dances that showcase the tribe’s vibrant spirit. He admires the intricate movements and the unique cultural expressions, including their tradition of adorning themselves with white flour during dances—a striking symbol of their identity.
Through his dedication to dance, H.E Chris Bau De DanceLord SSD continues to inspire and represent the beauty of South Sudanese culture on every stage he graces.
